Chinese Hitachi elevators in Indonesia

From Indonesia Elevator Guide
Jump to: navigation, search

This article deals with Chinese Hitachi (or commonly known as Guangzhou Hitachi) elevators in Indonesia.

Overview

Apart from Singapore or Japan made Hitachi elevators, there are also Chinese Hitachi elevators in Indonesia. These elevators are produced by Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd., the Chinese subsidiary of Hitachi's elevator business based in Guangzhou, China which was established in 1995. They have been imported by Sarang Teknik Indonesia (now Hitachi Asia Indonesia) in Indonesia possibly since the 2000s.

Like other types of Hitachi elevators in Indonesia, Chinese Hitachi elevators are extremely rare with only a handful of known places having them.

Characteristics

  • Car call cancel works by holding down the button until the lights goes off. The same technique is also applied on some non-Chinese Hitachi elevators.
  • Arrival chime is a bell sound. Some elevators may have a bell chime followed by an electronic chime.
  • The floor button will flashes upon arrival, before the doors open.

2000s to 2010s

Not much is known about Chinese Hitachi elevators in Indonesia during the 2000s. One of the most prominent installations was at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta which had replaced an unknown older elevator, but that elevator has been replaced into a Singapore made Hitachi VFI-II elevator (possibly in 2012). A video of the elevator before replacement can be seen below.

These buttons are dark colored square resin buttons with orange illuminating number and halo. There were also other type of buttons, such as GDL-S02 (a light grey variant of DL-PO / B95), AL-POC (a light grey square button), and AL-POE (a light grey round button). Operating panels were available in dark resin (standard) and flat stainless steel.

The floor indicators use the standard orange LED dot matrix display which look very similar to Mitsubishi's display. The floor indicator inside the car is located above the door. Landing floor indicators could be mounted above the landing door, or integrated with the landing call panels. Hall lanterns were available in different shapes and usually light up orange.

As of 2020, only two Chinese Hitachi elevator models were available in Indonesia. They are MCA, a passenger model with machine room, and LF-II which is a freight model. Hitachi Asia Indonesia had sold a machine room less model called LCA but this has been discontinued for unknown reason.

Most of the Guangzhou Hitachi elevators installed in Indonesia since the 2010s are found in high rise apartment buildings in Jakarta.
