Overview
GFC-L2 and GFC-L3 are two different heavy duty freight elevator models of Japanese elevator manufacturer Mitsubishi, produced by Mitsubishi's Taiwanese subsidiary, Taiwan Mitsubishi Elevator Co. Ltd., in Taiwan since the 2010s. They are two of the company's current three freight elevator models; the other one is GFM-T. Both models are mainly intended for warehouses and industrial buildings, but can also be used in other buildings like shopping centers, hotels or convention centers.
The main difference between GFC-L2 and GFC-L3 is the motor type; the former uses helical geared motor while the latter uses gearless motor. In addition, GFC-L2 uses the same fixtures as the older Mitsubishi NexWay-S elevators and GFC-L3 uses the same fixtures as the current Mitsubishi NEXIEZ-MR elevators.
In Indonesia, both models are mainly found in shopping centers and they are very rare.
Characteristics
- Car interior is usually plain with painted walle, with the ceiling is the same height as the car door.
- Door sills are thick.
- Arrival chime is the same as Mitsubishi ELEMOTION.
GFC-L2
GFC-L2 was released in 2010. It uses helical geared motor and the capacity range is between 3000 and 5000 kilograms. The speed range is limited to 0.5 to 1 meters per second, and it can only travel up to 8 floors. The fixtures used in this model are the same as the ones used in older Mitsubishi NexWay-S elevators in the 2000s, with barrel shaped black buttons and LED floor indicators with orange dot matrix display.
GFC-L3
GFC-L3 was released sometime in the 2010s and it can be considered as an improvement of GFC-L2. It uses gealess motor and the fixtures are the same as the ones used in current Mitsubishi NEXIEZ-MR/MRL elevators. The capacity range is between 750 and 2500 kilograms. Unlike GFC-L2, the speed range of this model is between 0.75 and 1.75 meters per second, and it can be installed in buildings with up to 30 floors.
Most of the heavy duty Mitsubishi freight elevators installed in Indonesia since the mid 2010s are of this model. One of the well known installations is at Senen Jaya Market Block 3 in Jakarta.
