Overview
GPM-III is a gearless high speed passenger elevator model of Mitsubishi, introduced in 1997 as a successor and improvement of the Mitsubishi GPM high speed model. As its name suggests, it was mainly aimed for high rise buildings such as offices, hotels and residential. It was discontinued in the mid 2000s and was succeeded by the Mitsubishi NexWay, the current flagship of Mitsubishi high speed elevator model since 2002.
It is very difficult to find this model in Indonesia as it was not very widely installed.
Characteristics
- Not much is known about this model, but the ride quality is very smooth and almost the same as the GPM-III model.
- Car call cancel feature was supported as an option.
- Arrival chime is the standard Mitsubishi electronic sound.
GPM-IIIMZ
GPM-IIIMZ is a variant of GPM-III for upgrading (modernization) older Mitsubishi high speed elevators. It was discontinued in the mid 2000s and was succeeded by NexWay Modernization.

Fixtures
Mitsubishi GPM-III and GPM-IIIMZ elevators use the same fixtures as the GPS-III elevators. For more details, refer to Mitsubishi GPS-III#Fixtures.
There are also black round plastic buttons with orange illuminating letter, which are believed to be known as J type. At least one place in Jakarta is known to have these buttons, which is RTDX Tower.
Known installations in Indonesia
GPM-III is an extremely rare model in Indonesia. As of 2023, only one installation has been known to exist which is at RDTX Tower in Jakarta (completed in 2002).
