NEXIEZ is a lineup of elevator models of Japanese elevator manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions.

Overview

It is Mitsubishi's current lineup of passenger elevator models (with or without machine room, depending on the model) for the global markets sold since 2010. The name NEXIEZ is a combination of the words "Next generation" and "axis".

As of May 2024, it consisted of seven different models, two of which are region exclusive and therefore not sold globally. The models are:

  • NEXIEZ-MR: Standard passenger elevator model with an overhead machine room. Launched in 2010.
  • NEXIEZ-MRL: Standard machine room less model. Launched in 2011.
  • NEXIEZ-GPX: Standard passenger elevator model exclusively sold for Central and South American countries. It is available with or without machine room. Launched in 2012 (2014 for the machine room less type).
  • NEXIEZ-LITE: Standard passenger elevator model exclusively sold in India. It is manufactured by Mitsubishi Elevator India Pvt. Ltd. Launched in 2014.
  • NEXIEZ-S: Small sized machine room less model for low rise residential and basic commercial buildings. Launched in August 2016.
  • NEXIEZ-MRL Version2: Standard machine room less model and an improvement of the original NEXIEZ-MRL model. Launched in October 2021.
  • NEXIEZ-Fit: Small sized machine room less model for low rise residential buildings. Launched in May 2024.

Of the seven models above, only NEXIEZ-MR, NEXIEZ-MRL, NEXIEZ-MRL Version2, NEXIEZ-S, and NEXIEZ-Fit are currently sold in Indonesia. All five models are manufactured by Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co. Ltd. (AMEC) in Chonburi, Thailand.

NEXIEZ-MR

NEXIEZ-MR is a standard passenger elevator model for low to high rise buildings. It was launched in 2010[1][2] as the first model in the NEXIEZ lineup. It is a successor of Mitsubishi NexWay-S. Most of the low to medium speed Mitsubishi elevators installed in Indonesia since the mid 2010s are of this model. It is usually found in medium to large sized shopping malls, high rise office buildings, hotels and apartment buildings.

A bed/stretcher elevator variant of this model for hospitals is known as NEXIEZ-MR Hospital[3], and is a successor of NexWay-S Series AW Hospital. It is widely seen in hospitals, although it is also occasionally seen in other buildings where it is used as a service elevator instead.

NEXIEZ-MRL

NEXIEZ-MRL is a standard machine room less passenger elevator model. It was launched in 2011[4][5], and is a successor of Mitsubishi Elenessa. Most of the Mitsubishi machine room less elevators in Indonesia installed since the mid 2010s are of this model. It is usually found in hotels, as well as office buildings in the lower floors. Some Bank Central Asia (BCA) branches across Indonesia are installed with this model.

In October 2021, Mitsubishi launched the NEXIEZ-MRL Version2 as an improvement of this model[6].

NEXIEZ-MRL Version2

NEXIEZ-MRL Version2 was launched in October 2021[6]as an improvement of the original NEXIEZ-MRL model with more advanced features and specifications, such as the ability to call the elevators remotely using a smartphone application and allowing use by mobile robots. It is based on the Mitsubishi AXIEZ-LINKs model that is sold exclusively in Japan since 2020. The elevator design incorporated in this model was also adopted from AXIEZ-LINKs, which consist of four different themes based on the results of global market research; "LUXURY", "NATURAL", "COMFORT", and "MODERN".

At present, the model has a capacity range between 450 and 1000 kilograms, speed range between 1 and 1.75 meters per second, and a maximum number of stops of 30 floors.

NEXIEZ-S

Launched in August 2016, NEXIEZ-S is a small sized passenger machine room less elevator model that targets small low rise residential and basic commercial buildings up to 10 floors[7]. The capacity range is limited to 320 or 450 kilograms (or 4 or 6 persons), the speed is only 1 meter per second, and the doors are only available in telescopic side opening type. Because of this, NEXIEZ-S is the smallest and most basic model in the NEXIEZ lineup.

NEXIEZ-Fit

Launched on 23 May 2024[8], NEXIEZ-Fit is a machine room less model designed for residential buildings up to 10 floors. At present, the capacity range is only 450 or 630 kilograms (or 6 or 8 persons) and the speed is only 1 meter per second. NEXIEZ-Fit is considered as a model that is positioned between NEXIEZ-S and NEXIEZ-MRL Version2.
