Overview
NEXIEZ-MR is a model of standard passenger elevator with machine room currently produced by Mitsubishi. Released in 2010[1][2], it is a successor of NexWay-S Series IP/AP Version 2. It is also the debut (first) model of Mitsubishi NEXIEZ, a lineup of passenger elevator models for the global markets since 2010.
It shares some similarities with NexWay-S Series IP/AP Version 2, featuring slim gearless machine that is housed in a smaller machine room about the same size of the elevator shaft itself. It is designed for low to high rise buildings, and is produced by Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co. Ltd. in Chonburi, Thailand.
Since its release, it has become a flagship model of Mitsubishi machine room traction model, replacing the same role that was previously held by NexWay-S Series IP/AP Version 2. It has been widely installed in various buildings in Indonesia, mainly in shopping centers, high rise apartments, hotels and hospitals.
Characteristics
- NEXIEZ-MR elevators runs very smooth just like other Mitsubishi models.
- NEXIEZ-MR is quite similar to the Mitsubishi NexWay-S model so it is difficult to tell the differences between the two models. However, they can be tell apart by the roping configuration; NEXIEZ-MR uses 2:1 roping while NexWay-S uses 1:1 roping.
- It has been known that newer NEXIEZ-MR elevator doors make mechanical sound (most likely from the safety bumpers) when the doors start to open and shut.
NEXIEZ-MR Hospital
This is a bed elevator variant for hospitals, and it is a successor of the now discontinued NexWay-S Series AW Hospital. There are some cases where this variant is used as a service elevator for buildings other than hospitals.

Fixtures
2010 to 2013
Early NEXIEZ-MR elevators, produced between 2010 and 2013, use the same fixtures as the NexWay-S Series IP/AP Version 2. For more details, refer to Mitsubishi NexWay-S#2001_to_2013.
2013 to present
In June 2013, the old fixture lineup, which had been used since the release of Mitsubishi Elenessa in 2001, was replaced with a new one[3].
All car stations are now stainless steel and flush mounted. Surface mounted landing stations were initially made of glass-like resin material. However, this was changed into stainless steel panels with plastic casings in 2018.
Buttons
The buttons, known as V type, are round stainless steel with a tactile and halo that lights up orange (V1), white (V3), or blue (V5) when pressed. They use Gill Sans MT typeface which has been used since the previous buttons. The door open button is no longer wide.
There are also flat variant of the V type buttons without tactile. Similarly, they light up orange (V2), white (V4), or blue (V6).
Depending on the car station position, the alarm button is above the floor buttons for front mounted panels, and below the floor buttons (in line with the door control buttons) for side mounted panels.
Other types of buttons can also be used as option, such as:
- N type: Square glass-like buttons that light up entirely when pressed. They light up orange (N2), white (N4), or blue (N6).
- C type: Silver touch sensitive buttons with orange illuminating halo. They are usually paired with E type door control buttons.
Floor indicators
Orange LED dot matrix or segmented display (the latter is standard). An LCD display with animated arrow is available as an option and is capable of displaying various messages. The floor indicator display has also been totally redesigned, and now has the "MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC" logo.
By the late 2010s, the LCD display interface was updated with a new V-shaped arrow (with faster spinning effect) and the blinking effect of the floor number has been slightly reduced.
Hall lanterns
All hall lanterns now use LED lights. Different lantern styles are available, and the "classic" square lanterns which have been used since the 1990s remain available. Custom lanterns also exist, but they're rare.
Some elevators may have an overhead landing floor indicator combined with hall lanterns.
