This article is about the high speed model of the Mitsubishi NexWay lineup. For the standard passenger model, refer to Mitsubishi NexWay-S.
Overview
NexWay is a high speed gearless elevator model of Japanese elevator manufacturer Mitsubishi. Released in 2002[1] as a successor of Mitsubishi GPM-III, it is designed for high rise buildings such as offices, hotels and residential.
It uses large and more sophisticated gearless machine. It is a custom type model, meaning that the elevator can be configured and specified based on client's requirements. The maximum speed is 10 meters per second, which is much faster compared to its predecessor GPM-III which was only 4 meters per second. Mitsubishi's destination dispatch system, DOAS, can be applied to this model as an option. The model uses Mitsubishi (Sigma)AI-2200C artificial intelligence group control system.
In Indonesia, it is mainly found in high rise office buildings in Jakarta. Most of them operate with Mitsubishi DOAS destination dispatch.
Characteristics
- NexWay elevators usually accelerate and level quick than Mitsubishi NexWay-S.
- Some installations from the 2010s use the Korean Mitsubishi arrival chime.
- Door sills are typically thick.

NexWay Modernization
In-production | 2011 to 2021 | Status | Discontinued |
Predecessor | Mitsubishi GPM-IIIMZ | Successor | Mitsubishi ELEMOTION |
Released in 2011, NexWay Modernization is a variant of NexWay for upgrading (modernization) older Mitsubishi high speed elevators. It is the successor of GPM-IIIMZ, Mitsubishi's previous modernization model for high speed elevators.
After having been on the product lineup for ten years, it was discontinued in 2021 and high rise modernization is now covered by Mitsubishi ELEMOTION, making it the only Mitsubishi elevator modernization model available in the lineup. Like ELEMOTION, NexWay Modernization is exclusive for older Mitsubishi elevators so it couldn't be applied for non-Mitsubishi elevators.
