Overview

Spec Tiara was an elevator model of Otis's Japanese subsidiary Nippon Otis that was produced between the mid 1990s and the 2000s. It was released in April 1995[1] as a successor of Nippon Otis's previous models, Otis 200VF and 300VF.

It is a standard passenger elevator model with geared motor and VVVF inverter, and was mainly designed for low to mid rise residential and commercial buildings. A bed elevator variant for hospitals was also available. Compared to the previous models, the design has been greatly changed and improved.

In Indonesia, this model is very rarely seen as it was not widely installed at that time.

Characteristics

  • Direction arrow flashes when the elevator is moving, similar to the Otis Spec Alza/Creces elevators.
  • Arrival chime sound is the same as the Otis Spec Alza/Creces elevators, which is a Mitsubishi chime. It usually sounds when the doors open.

Known specifications

Very little is known about Spec Tiara's specification. The capacity range is estimated to be between 450 and 1000 kilograms.

Fixtures

There are two types of button panel; one is a curved dark grey resin like panel and the second is a flat stainless steel panel. The car station is a corner fit type, meaning that it is positioned in the corner between the front panel and side wall.

Buttons

The buttons are round click-type grey plastic with an orange illuminating letter. The door control buttons are green, while the emergency buttons are yellow for alarm and blue for intercom.

Floor indicators

The floor indicators use orange segmented numbers with a triangle arrow that flashes when the elevator is moving. Landing floor indicator is usually on the hall station.

Known installations in Indonesia

As of 2024, there were only six known locations in Indonesia having this model.

  • Jakarta City Hall, Jakarta
  • Dharma Wanina Persatuan Kuningan Assembly Building, Jakarta
  • Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Jakarta
  • Azra Hospital, Bogor
  • BJB Head Office, Bandung
  • Wisma Monex, Bandung (replaced into AE-Lift Hosting)
  • Catherine Booth Hospital, Makassar

Trivia

  • In Japan, the machine room less version of this model is called Spec Revo (standard type) and Order Revo (custom made type).
