Overview
Schindler 7000 is the current flagship model of high speed passenger elevator of Swiss elevator company Schindler, designed for high rise and supertall buildings. Launched in 2002[1], it is the successor of Schindler's previous high speed elevator model, Schindler 700.
The model can travel up to 500 meters and run up to 10 meters per second speed. It can be a single deck or double deck (i.e. two cars in attached together traveling in one shaft). It can also be equipped with Schindler's destination dispatch system as an option; Miconic 10/Schindler ID (until 2012) and The PORT Technology (since 2009) to improve building traffic flow. Schindler 7000 is a custom made model, meaning that it can be designed and configured based on client's request and requirements.
In Indonesia, this model is widely used in high rise office buildings in Jakarta. Most of them work with Schindler Miconic 10 as well as PORT destination dispatch.
Characteristics
- Schindler 7000 elevators typically have fast leveling.
- The number on the floor indicators changes as soon as the elevator starts moving.

D-Line or M-Line buttons and Vander floor indicators
Schindler 7000 elevators can be fitted with either D-Line or M-Line buttons.
D-Line is a series of round push buttons with illuminating halo. The button illumination color can be green, red, white, blue or yellow. There are at least five known D-Line button variants:
- D2: Round glass button.
- D2 Braille: Black coated aluminum round button with braille and tactile.
- D4: Stainless steel round button.
- D6: Black coated aluminum round button with tactile.
- D8: Similar to D2 Braille, but with a raised edge.
Most of the Schindler 7000 elevators installed in Indonesia from the early 2010s use D-Line D4 buttons.
M-Line is a rounded rectangle silver or aluminum button with a long illuminating bar on the top. It can be touch sensitive or push type, the latter had a rounded area to push the button. Almost all Schindler 7000 elevators installed in Indonesia between the mid 2000s and early 2010s use these buttons, albeit the push button type.
Until the late 2010s, D-Line and M-Line buttons are often paired with LED dot matrix floor indicators supplied by Vander Electronic Information, a Hong Kong based company. Some elevators use third-party LCD displays (such as Avire E-Motive, etc.), and some others use a combination of Vander and third-party LCD display.

Z-Line
Z-Line refers to the destination keypad used in Schindler 7000 elevators equipped with Schindler Miconic 10 or SchindlerID destination dispatch. These are keypads with numerical push buttons and LCD display (blue backlight with dot matrix characters for older keypads, and white backlight for newer keypads). For SchindlerID, there is usually a card scanner attached at the bottom of the keypad.
Z-Line keypads are also used inside the elevator which are concealed in a hidden compartment. They are only used for firefighting or and other special purposes.
PORT Terminals
PORT Terminals refers to the TFT-LCD touch screens used in Schindler 7000 elevators equipped with The PORT Technology destination dispatch. They can also be integrated into security gates. For more details about these touch screens, refer to Schindler Destination Dispatch#PORT.
