Overview

The Shanghai Mitsubishi Elenessa (now Elenessa-LZ) is a machine room less passenger elevator model of Shanghai Mitsubishi, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi. Produced since the 2000s, it is almost the same as the original Elenessa model produced by Mitsubishi except that it is sold under the "Shanghai Mitsubishi" brand. This model is currently produced in Shanghai Mitsubishi's factory in Minhang, a district in Shanghai, China.

In Indonesia, it is mainly found in hotels and occasionally shopping centers and is uncommon to see compared to the Shanghai Mitsubishi LEHY-MRL, another machine room less model from the same company.

Characteristics

A Shanghai Mitsubishi Elenessa elevator can be easily distinguished by a keyhole on the top floor landing station (click photo to view).
  • Shanghai Mitsubishi Elenessa is very similar to Mitsubishi's version. It can be easily distinguished by the keyhole on the top floor landing station, where the inspection control board is concealed behind it (see photo on the top right).
  • The design used on the older Elenessa model (2000s to mid 2010s) is the same as the older Mitsubishi Elenessa. For the newer model, it is the same as the Mitsubishi NEXIEZ-MRL.
  • Push buttons used on older Elenessa elevators generally have poor durability compared to the Mitsubishi version. There have been a few cases where the buttons were cracked and damaged.
  • In some cases, the motor running sound is notoriously louder compared to the Mitsubishi version.
