Overview

SPACEL-UNI is a machine room less elevator model of Toshiba which was produced from the 2000s until the early 2010s. The model was manufactured by Toshiba Elevator (China) Co. Ltd. in China.

It is based on the Toshiba SPACEL EX model in Japan. The capacity range is between 630 and 1800 kilograms, and the maximum speed is 1.75 meters per second. It was discontinued in the early 2010s and was succeeded by the Toshiba SPACEL-III model which is basically an improvement model.

Characteristics

  • Ride quality is generally smooth.
  • Car call cancellation works by double pressing the button. After the first press, it will flashes and goes off after the second press.

Fixtures

The fixtures used in the Toshiba SPACEL-UNI elevators are the same as the Toshiba ELCOSMO model. For more details, refer to Toshiba ELCOSMO#Fixtures.

Trivia

  • In Japan, some Toshiba SPACEL elevators use Kone EcoDisc motors because SPACEL was developed under a strategic alliance between Toshiba and Kone in 1998[1]. It can be said that the early Japanese SPACEL elevators are based on the Kone MonoSpace elevators[2].
