Overview

A ThyssenKrupp Evolution1 elevator. Notice the control box next to the elevator door.

Evolution, also known as TE-Evolution was a machine room less elevator model of German elevator manufacturer ThyssenKrupp (now TK Elevator). It was originally developed by Thyssen and launched in 1998. After the merger with Krupp in 2001, the model was continued to be produced by ThyssenKrupp until the late 2010s.

The model that was sold in Indonesia as well as other parts of Asia Pacific was manufactured at ThyssenKrupp Elevator's Zhongshan factory in China. In Indonesia, it was sold from the early 2000s until around 2018 or 2019 when it was discontinued and replaced by thyssenkrupp meta100/200 and enta100/200/300. Two variants were available; the first one is the regular Evolution with a maximum capacity of 2000 kilograms, and the second was Evolution1 with a maximum capacity of 1600 kilograms. It is usually found in shopping centers as well as low to mid rise hotels.
