Overview

OH 5000 is a passenger elevator model of Otis, manufactured by Otis's Chinese subsidiary Otis Electric (formerly Xizi Otis) in Hangzhou, China since the 2000s.

It is a model of low to medium speed gearless passenger elevator mainly for mid to high rise residential and commercial buildings. In Indonesia, this model is mainly seen in mid to high rise office and apartment buildings.

Characteristics

  • OH 5000 elevators usually level quick, similar to other Xizi Otis/Otis Electric models.
  • Car call cancel works by double pressing the button. However, it only works when the car parks on a floor with the doors open.
  • Like the Otis Gen2-Regen model, installations after 2016 have the iPhone-like arrival chime.

Fixtures

For older elevators

Older OH 5000 elevators produced between the early and late 2000s normally use three types of button;

  • White plastic square button with orange illuminating halo
  • Round silver button with tactile/braille and red illuminating halo
  • Black plastic round button with red/orange light in the middle

The floor indicators are red LED 16-segments display paired with two orange triangle arrows. Landing floor indicators could be above the door or on the hall station.

For newer elevators

Newer OH 5000 elevators produced since the early 2010s use the same fixtures as the Otis Gen2-Regen elevators. For more details, refer to Otis Gen2-Regen#Fixtures.
