Overview
GPX was a low end/low cost passenger traction elevator model produced by Mitsubishi from 1998 until the 2000s. It was specifically designed for basic residential and commercial buildings with up to 16 floors. It is essentially a trimmed down version of the GPS-III model that lacks any extra features, equipment and interior options. It was discontinued sometime in the late 2000s with no direct successor.
It is relatively difficult to see in Indonesia as it was not widely installed compared with the Mitsubishi GPS-III model.
Characteristics
- There is no switch cabinet on the car station.
- Ride quality is pretty much the same like Mitsubishi GPS-III.
- The maximum capacity is only 700 kilograms or 10 persons.
- The Mitsubishi logo and rated capacity are shown on a separate badge below the floor indicator, unlike the GPS-III where they are shown on the floor indicator.
- Landing stations have a flat top, unlike the GPS-III which have a rounded top.
- Car interior is simple with either plain stainless steel or painted steel walls. Ceiling design was only available in two options.
Fixtures
The fixtures used in the Mitsubishi GPX elevators are almost the same as the Mitsubishi GPS-III elevators, but with a more simplified design. The difference between this model and the GPS-III is that the GPX never had a surface mounted panel, and the car station has a flat top. In addition, the capacity is listed on a separate badge below the floor indicator along with the "MITSUBISHI" logo.
Buttons
Dark grey square plastic buttons with an orange light. The door open button is marked green, but lights up orange when pressed. The buttons are known as M type.
Floor indicators
Standard orange LED dot matrix display.
